Post subject: | Need Blind Advice! |
I am in the process of building a boat blind using bimini material similar to the one built by Poker1. Here is my issue though. I have grab bars on the gunnels that limit how wide I can make the blind, therefore affecting the total height of the blind when it is in the upright position. I am trying to figure out how to maximize the total height, before I permanently attach the top rails of the blind. Right now with the top rails attached the total height from floor to top is 44" which goes up to about my belly button. I am thinking about making the top rail adjustable so it fits flush in the down position (traveling), but can extend out adding about 8 inches of total height in the upright position (hunting). I don't know if I am building a mental picture for you guys or not, but basically the little bimini fittings in the picture that are on the rails of the blind about 6" from where the blind rails attach to the anchor bars would slide up about 8" increasing the height of the blind, and then slide back down rails to travel. Can anyone think of a better option or is 44" concealment sufficient or is my idea plausible? BTW...those straps are temporary! Thanks!!! |

Remember, you want to try to keep it as low as you can, want it about eyeball high while sitting, then stand to shoot! |
