Post subject:  Question for GT boat/motor owners

I'm trying to get some info for a buddy of mine. He has a A1 Custom boat with a 35GTR. Trying to found out where your prop shaft is in relation to the bottom your boat. Is your prop shaft level with the bottom of the boat? His prop is about even with the bottom of the boat, but it is angled a good bit. I'm gonna trt to get a pic of what I'm talking about so I can post it. He's wondering if his motor is maybe at the wrong angle.

On my GD, my prop and shaft are pretty much level with the bottom of my boat. He was wondering if the fact that his prop is angled downward is affecting his performance. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not really sure Eddie. But he thinks that it should be running better. He just wanted to know if on a GT boat / motor combo if the shaft and prop were more level with the bottom of the boat. Its almost like Greg's prop being angled down is pushing more up than forward in the water.

The transom angle in relation to the bottom of the boat should be 15 dogrees! Transom height should be around 21".

here is a pic I had of the back of the boat. If I remember I'll get another pic from the side when I wake up.

just an oberservation and not sure if it affects it at all, but in the picture the motor looks as if its "cocked" to da right a little, that may do something a little, check your motor mounts. also i believe that the degree angle gator tail puts on their boats is 20* you may want to call and double check dat wit them.

Here is another pic Scott. The motor is trimmed all the way up with the bolt in the middle hole.

Thanks DW. On my padna's boat, his motor is in the bottom hole and he has to run trimmed all the way up. The bottom of his belt housing is about 6 inches above the bottom of his boat. Then the shaft and prop angle down from there. Thinking that angle of the shaft and prop should be closer to level.
