Re: guys that are building their own boat blinds
I probably have around $250.00 in mine. It is light weight and I figured I lost less than 1 mph with it on. I use it as a base and add some local veg or limbs to it when I get set up. I only use it when I have no other way to hunt a hole but having it on the boat has saved several hunts. I have hunted it in wide open areas and been successful so having a ton of heavy material added to it is not necessary.

Re: guys that are building their own boat blinds
9 sticks of EMT - $35ish bimini connections - $30ish SS mounting screws - $10 nylon straps - $15 blind material (I used 2 kinds) - $140 $230ish I bought my own bender so that was another $40.
I plan to use mine when I need another blind without having to build one in the lake. Or if I plan to go somewhere new.
OAN, for all those that have these type of blinds, look into taking the screws out of the mounting brackets and get some wire lock pins. Makes for a quick removal with no need for screwdrivers. Still working on something to allow the straps connected to the boat to be taken off without screws. Maybe snaps or something.

Re: guys that are building their own boat blinds
3/4 inch conduit and 7/8 bimini joints are the way to go. I just built mine and it is very light and only cost around 250. A lot better than spending 500 on a quick set

Less then 50 bucks Got me a old rivited jon boat some guy was gonna scrap cut it in half (the long way) bolted it down. added some light wire fence to the out side to add grass to and was done. Even on the coldest windiest days it is toasty warm with one heater. I am sure you could tweek it however you wanted to.

Re: guys that are building their own boat blinds
Here's one I recently built prob less than $120 inlcuding the material... will prob add some cordura500 off ebay b4 big bird season so another $50.... here's the link.... http://www.txwaterfowler.com/forum/foru ... ?TID=20485 I stole some ideas from this site and added some of my own (I didnt like the price of the bimini top parts (only $30 but too high for my blood)) so I made my own metal brackets and they turned out great..... hope this helps...

Re: guys that are building their own boat blinds
No joke can't get much past it and understand what i'm readin....
OH OH Boat blinds. I built mine on my 18'CC like one that was on here with the 3/4 EMT and bimini top connections, and i'm about to finish the one on my 14'flat the same way. The most expensive part is the camo netting. I used a camo tarp reom Academy as a wind blocker ,and it also doesn't let anything see the silver , and military camo netting on top. All I do is throw a little reeds/rosoes in the mix and i'm done. It covers my entire 18' aluminum boat that is not painted . I'll post some pics when I put it back on the boat next week.

Re: guys that are building their own boat blinds
Sorry about the avatar guys.
Anyway, it doesn't matter how you build the frame itself. That will be the cheapest part. Wrapping it with camo/burlap/or whatever will be the most expensive part.
