 Need you Mod V help...
I'm potentially in the market for a decent all round fishing/hunting boat (tired of flip flopping boats)...and will be trading in my current fishing model which is a 14' Monarch Knight with a 25 horse merc....
In my area I have found these 2 boats and would like your opinions on them please.
#1 boat: Is a 2003 Beavertail 18' with pods getting pushed by a 2004 Honda 30 horse tiller for about $8000
#2 boat: Is a 1992 Lowe 1760MV Big Husky Jon Boat getting pushed by a 1996 Mercury 40hp tiller Oil Injection with Power Tilt and a 1996 Shoreland'r 3100 lb H.D. Trailer for about $4800 __________________ Troy K Twin States Outdoors Pro-Staff Windwalker Gun Dogs

Re: Need you Mod V help...
If you want a boat for a mudmotor, buy a boat for a mudmotor. And how the hell are we supposed to know you are talking about a boat for a 36pd? You posted two boats that both have outboards attatched to them... Neither of those would be a good choice for a pd. Buy a pd, or find another boat built for a pd.

Re: Need you Mod V help...
If you intend to put a PD on the back stay away from both, the MV will be a dog with a PD or any MM on the back, you will be disappointed in performances. The Beavertail will run, but the pods will not work well with the reverse option. Look for a used PD, Phowler, GT etc boat and get it set up for fishing in the summer and fowling in the fall. This will ensure that you get the performance you need during the hunting season and any of these boats make a great fishing rig in the summer.
