 PODS????
I just got a new 1542 southern duck boat with a 23 GTR...when i took it out my buddy rode with me and i had no problems the back end does sit pretty low but with somebody else up front it rides out. I drove it by myself today and i couldn't open it all the way because my front will just start bouncing obviously because there's no weight up front. My friend suggest putting pods on the back. Will that help with the bouncing when i ride by myself?

 Re: PODS????
to answer your question, no pods wont stop the bouncing. put your gas tank and battery up front. that will most likely fix your problem and save you the headache of pods with a MM

 Re: PODS????
gas tank is already up from i put bother my anchors up there too... my batter would kinda of be a pain in the a$$ to moving since i got all the wiring in seat/storage box in the back.

 Re: PODS????
then put you a center block up there to keep it from purposing you need more weight in the front of the boat when its just you. some ppl may suggest getting tabs welded on the back of the boat but that can hurt your performance sometimes too. but pods will not help you though.

 Re: PODS????
no not necessarily. a buddy of mine use to have pods on the back of a regular aluminum boat cuz he thoght it would lift the back end up and give him better carrying capabilities. well the pods would raise the rear end up on a couple inches with just him. when someone else would ride with him it would sit right back where it would before the pods. also the pods limited his turning radius cuz the shaft would hit the pod so he couldnt turn as much when needed to turn sometimes. he had the pods cut off the boat within one week of having them put on you can get them added on but i dont think its gonna help you out like your thinking it is....

Wedges may be a better option for you. It helped my boat out alot.

 Re: PODS????
Just that...They take two small wedges and weld them to the bottom of the boat. Some only need a small bead of weld to fix porpoising, I would start with that if your gonna do anything. You can always add a bigger wedge after, if you try a bead and it doesn't work.

 Re: PODS????
I did them myself. Just cut some aluminum angle down the size and use some 2 part epoxy putty to hold them on. That was, you can take them back off if they aren't working right. Mine have been on for about 2 months with the putty and are strong as hell. Also, i noticed no difference when running with a load.

 Re: PODS????
When I bought my boat it came with pods. The only good thing they were for was getting the dog in the boat easier. I have since cut them off and gained 150rpms out of the motor by doing so. They would dig worse in the mud when you were stuck and would really drag in the open water. I dont think ya need them I just put more weight up front and it works out way better
