 Custom Boat Prices
I've searched the forums but cant find an answer. Not trying to start a who's boat is better thread either. I can look at commercial boat prices, but can't compare to any of the custom boat builders. I'm interested in having a boat made by Uncle J, Breaux, or Aucoin. Are these boats generally cheaper than the Phowlers, Gator Tails or Gator Trax? Will anyone post what they got for what price? Just curious, thanks!

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
Boat price depends on who is buildin it, and how you want it built. But yes, custom boats are generally cheaper than premanufactured boats.

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
I would say it would depend on the builder... Most likely can get a custom just like you want for an equal or better price than a "stock" boat from the production guys....
Call around and get some prices... Most of the custom guys will be glad to talk to you and go over needs, preferences, thoughts, and then give you some recommendations and prices....

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
to me you cannot beat a custom boat IMO because you truly get what you want. as caddo brook said call the guys you are interested in building you boat and they will be more than happy to assist with what you want.

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
Mine ran about 2,000 cheaper, without the price of the 3/16 bottom, to a compareable production hull. And they will usually only quote you a price when you call to discuss them building you one. Custom hull, custom price. While they all make great hulls, .125 is a joke when running the ARK-LA-TX waters.

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
I guess the custom guys have jobs backed up out the door, but it is unfortunate that they do not have websites with photos and some pricing guidelines. I've seen some very creative and practical additions to/features on boats pictured on this site, but can't always determine the make of the boat, let alone if the option was devised by the customer, or the builder.

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
Now, if you are looking for the ultimate custom skiff built entirely out of cypress hull and mahogany frames and decking with leather seats, all clear coated in epoxy so you will have a thing of beauty, provided money is no object, send me a pm. This is not for everyone, but for he who has to be different. Result is lighter than aluminim. U tell me which boat's design u like and I can take numbers off of it and do the same in wood. Just in case u wondering bottom covered in Kevlar. You can be "that guy" everywhere you go.

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
I may beable to assist you without going into a Long Drawn Out Conversation regarding construction and Detail of boats.
A all 1/8th construction hull (with gun box, front deck (with storage), Floor, performance Crimp in Sides, and rear pod) will run you from $3300.00 - $3800.00
A 3/16th bottom,1/8th sides construction hull (with gun box, front deck with storage, Floor, performance Crimp in Sides, and rear pod) will run you from $3500.00 - 4500.00.
Priced depend on what all you want. But you must remimber.... Most all custom boats are built with a bit of LOVE !!!! The below boat is a pretty standard design that alog of people have been going with. Paint job is $700.00 additional. Boat1.jpg
Warm Wishes, Uncle J

 Re: Custom Boat Prices
Is that a built in fuel tank in the front? Very nice looking boat. What would a 1848 with a buili in 18 gal fuel tank no gun box. But storage up front and a wide ass open floor plan run. I would want a seat in the back for me other than that wide open. With full flat floor and Hydroturf on the flat surfaces. Sorry if i nigged on a thread just curious
