 Short Transom to Tall Transom--Need Pictures / Sketches etc Okay guys, we are needing to take a 16" transom to a 20" transom.
I am looking for some pictures / sketches / info from guys that have welded onto their existing transoms. Wanting to makes sure it gets done properly as the aluminum welder here hasn't done this before.

Re: Short Transom to Tall Transom--Need Pictures / Sketches This is what I did to my old boat. Buy A peice of 2x4 aluminum rectangular tubing. Have it welded on your transom. Insert a wood 2x4 into it. Then bolt some angeliron on the inside from top to biottom. Guarentee you it works and is very strong.
