No problem. Ricky is a good guy to do business with, he painted my last bateau that Brother built. What did Brother have to do to your transom? Build it up?

yeah build it up and i had a couple runners needed to be rewelded. i believe i can put a 200 hp on back of it now. if he builds his boats like he repaired mine, if i ever have one built he will build it for me .

I'm in baton rouge looking to get my 16 ft southfork and motor done..ballpark figure wise, what did he charge? I talked to a guy out of geismar and he wanted $750 which seemed kind of high- your boat looks awesome man, I can tell this guy does a hell of a job!

I am painting my boat now. After the expense of stencils, paint and your time...700 is worth it. I wish they were closer to me!

When you guys have these boats repainted, do they remove the old paint or just prime and paint over it?

Professionally done, they will remove the old paint. Ricky told me that the majority of the cost of painting the boat is in the preparation of the hull.

They remove all the old paint as much as they can, primer the boat and then stencil it and then spray a protective coating over the boat that suppose to not let it fade!

He dosent strip the boats -- acid washes em if they have bare metal on them, sands them down smooth, primes and paints them then seals them

He even sands the boat if its bare metal so you didnt get ripped Robin --- He charges by the size of the boat is the way he explained it to me.
