 pods??
I have a 1448 tracker grizzly and I just purchased a 27 hp MBSD. It runs great but it takes forever to get on a plane and it pops the nose up in the air like an outboard. When I run by myself it porpoises really bad unless I trim it down really far. I have moved as much as I can forward but still really bow lite. I have heard about pods to raise the back end up but dont know much about them. Would this help fix my problems?? Are they worth getting?? Also is anybody else out there running a similar set up?? IF so what speeds are you getting...Im getting about 22-23 mph with 1 person, gas tank and cooler.

 Re: pods??
Try 12" x 12" bennet trim tabs first... You may not need pods. Workers for me.

Pods sound like they may help in your situation. But so do trim tabs. Do some searching, there is plenty of threads on both topics to give you an idea of what may work best for you.

 Re: pods??
Pretty sure dguidry sheared one off shortly after installing them...He sure does seem to like them though. I personally wouldn't want anything that exposed and brittle hanging off my boat. Not the way I run it anyway.
If the boat only has a porpoising problem, you may look in to adding a set of wedges instead of tabs. If the boat is not extremely ass heavy the pods can hurt your situation more than they help.
As noted before, use the search feature. There is a ton of info on all these things. Its a good way to see the good, the bad, and the ugly about all three options. Best option of all has not been discussed yet, that would be to purchase a longer hull. Another good piece of advice is don't get in a hurry. Take your time, do some research, and try to make the right decision the first time.

 Re: pods??
Good deal. The last thing i remembered reading about yours was that you had broken one or something. Glad they are working out for you.

 Re: pods??
x2 on search. bunch of good info out there..
How is boat sitting in the water? is it really sitting low in back?
Longer boat is best overall solution... by far
pods help correct a boat/motor combo problem.. So fixing the core problem is sometimes better if you can afford to sell the boat and get another.
pods will provide about 200 lbs of additional lift to back of boat. if that would fix your problem, then go for it.
there have also been some guys who put tabs on the back of that boat but not the big 12 x 12 ones.. they just run some angle across the back and it seems like that has helped a few guys who had your problem. I think there have been some post about that... or the wedges...
not a big fan of hanging a 12 x 12 tab off the back of the boat. can't imagine that would last very long -at least on my boat... A proper set of pods mounted correctly (usually best to have them custom made by someone who knows what he is doing) will work wonders in certain situations.. but only in certain situations. Do not expect any performance gains out of them....
good luck.

 Re: pods??
don't waste any more money on that soda can boat. shouldn't have tried in to begin with. save your dollars, and get a boat made for the motor.
