I HAVE A 1448 SEA NYNPH AND WANT TO PUT A GTR 35 BUT NOT SURE HOW IT WILL HANDLE THAT SIZE MOTOR. DO I NEED PODS OR WILL THEY EVEN HELP? I PLAN ON BUYING A LARGER BOAT NEXT YEAR SO I WANT TO GET THE MOTOR I WANT BUT NOT IF I CANT USE IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

 Re: WHICH MOTOR?
STOP YELLING, THE SHIT GETS REALLY ANNOYING.
Seriously, Im not sure that a 14x48 can handle the weight of a 35. Use the search feature, there is alot of information on pods in here and they can be tricky.
And if its a mod v then its not going to perform as good as a flat bottom. What conditions are you running in?

 Re: WHICH MOTOR?
dont waste your time putting it on that lil 14 footer. buy the motor and wait till you get bigger boat to put it on.

 Re: WHICH MOTOR?
hell, i say go for it. Worst case senario a gator tail becomes fish structure.

 Re: WHICH MOTOR?
A buddy of mine had his 35hp gator tail on a 14x48, the boat handle the weight of the gator tail just fine. He made some trim tabs for the boat so it will stop porpoising when he was in the boat by his self. The only problem with a boat that small is that it doesn't handle a load well. I guess it depends on what you call a load, his boat ran good with 1-2 people in the boat with hunting gear. His boat handled the weight of the gator tail than my boat did with a 27 hp pro drive. We ended up making flotation pods for my boat which to care of the problem from the weight of the boat.

 Re: WHICH MOTOR?
I have a 12 foot pirogue that I fashioned in the garage out of styrofoam, cardboard, and fiberglass. is a 35 horsepower motor too much? would pods make it go any faster?
