I just hooked up my switch panel in my boat and saw that they are all 15amp switches. question is, will that work with a headlight? or will that blow the fuses?

you should be fine, if it does blow just replace it with a 20 or 25 AFTER making sure there isnt a problem in the wiring that is causing a short

is it ok to put that size fuse on a 15amp switch? cuz on the side of my switches they say 15 amps, i was gonna put some 20's in there to be sure but then i seen that on the switch itself

Not a good idea. You are making the weak point the wire or the switch by going over the rating. Good way to start a fire or fry your electronics.

the wiring can carry well over 20 amps for a short period of time. the fuse will still blow before ant damage occurs.

Unless you are running a 200 watt or larger headlight 15 amps is plenty anyway. Most of them are only 100 or maybe 125 watts. 100 watts on a 12V circuit only equates to slightly less than 8 amps. 125 watts is still less than 10 amps. Stick with the 15 amp fuse.

Or - if the circuit is over the safe amperage - use the switch
to fire off a relay to power the circuit where you run the shortest
possible feed wires to the device and relay and run whatever
length wire from the switch to the relay as you need.... This
is actually the safest and best way to power a hi amp circuit
like a multi-light bank of lights....
