gas tank in bow or stern
somebody stole my 12 gal tank that the boat came with. it was under the bow deck. a buddy gave me his 18 gallon tank which i put under there also. 18 gal is way to big imo but it was free. when I'm running on plain i seem to have a lot of boat in the water (bow is running low in water or whatever.) i have been considering getting rid of the tank up front and putting a small 6-9 gal tank in the stern. anyone have experience with this? just looking for benefits and drawbacks from such a setup. oh yeah, its an 1854 gtb pushed by a 35gtr.

Re: gas tank in bow or stern
Is it really plowing that much? I have a 1860 GTB with 9GA up front & trolling motor battery, trolling motor and casting deck I don't really "plow" but the boat runs flat... which is what I like gets me through the skinny sand bar areas to hit those reds!

Re: gas tank in bow or stern
In the bow is the best. I had a tank in the back it squated my boat too much

Re: gas tank in bow or stern
if it bothers you that much why not just ponie up and buy a new tank like the old one?

Re: gas tank in bow or stern
I had a custom aluminum tank built for my boat at Sunshine Marine Tanks. They were very reasonable with their prices.
