Post subject:  Used mud hull prices.....

Well I bought a 1648 alweld La. model and am wishing I had a longer mud hull.(imagine that!) What could I expect to pay for a good used 1848 mud hull that doesn't have a jacked up bottom? I might be looking for a deal in the near future. How is this size boat rated as far as load capacity?(weight and how many people) Mine's rated for 3 and I forget the weight. Thanks guys

Look thru the classifieds to compare some prices. Might even check with some of the custom builders, sometimes you can get one built for about the same as a used one. Uncle J & Brother Breaux both build a good boat, there are others as well.

If i had my choice it would be Uncle J for sure. The problem I have is selling my boat plus the time frame to build one since duck season's right around the corner.

Or you can call Coondik about the 18x48 Aucoin he's selling. It's a damn nice boat from the pics I've seen.

i have a 1848 hull with 6ft gun cabinets on both sides a 4 foot deck on the front with two compartments and pontoons to take all that weight and stress off your motor for more performance in the mud ill do an even swap with you this boat is a little too heavy for what i need it for it has a brand new never been used bottom on it the places we hunt u need a hell of a mud motor to get there and conditions are bad and i get iffy on weather to hit the straight mud sometimes i need something a little lighter but you CANNOT dent or bang up this boat its SOLID
