I had an idea and maybe I got it from seeing one of the many boat pics on this site, but I've not found one after searching long and hard. I'm sure one of the custom builders could do this, but does anyone know of someone that already has? Can't be an original idea. Most boats, either with or without a huntdeck, have the dry storage box for the drivers seat. My idea would be a rear deck, about 12-24 inches long, the width of the boat, which would serve as a seat, and as a rear deck. Anyones boat out there have this. A pic would be sweet. |

Are you talking about a rear seat/deck across the width of the boat like on a jon boat? If you are,i had one like that and its just my .02 but it sucked cause when you wanted to stand up to drive you had to straddle it which was very uncomfortable. |

I think he is talkin about extendin the huntdeck up into the boat where he can use it as a seat, If I git one built i'm gunna have a huntdeck just like a regular huntdeck but where the false transom comes up the huntdeck keeps on goin a foot or so into the boat. So i can fill it up with floatation. |

I'm not artist, but I've attached a pic sorta drawing what I am talking about. Just a short rear deck like the front deck. Except I envision the rear deck not being enclosed, like some front decks are open underneath, providing easy access to the batteries, etc... Maybe easier to imagine like a 12 to 16 inch lip, as apposed to a deck. Seems like it would be easy to put a seat base on either side of the motor for driving, maybe even one in the middle of the rear lip/deck for fishing, not driving. I figured someones had to have tried this already. |

Yea, I'd say like yours in your sig quackconsumer, but without it being removable and no front. I like the way it is narrow. Does it get in the way of the tiller? Can you sit on it or does it make you too far back? Oh wait, you dont have a tiller! |

I have seats built into mine. No storage and its not a bench cause that wouldn't work with my motor. Works perfect though. |

cool, I like the way yours is Shadow. If it had a huntdeck, the deck could go all the way across instead of a gap like yours, unless the tiller is restricted |

I knew someone had to have thought of this before. Thats basically exactly what I was talking about Woodduck. Do you sit on the deck while driving? When do you find a need to flip up the hatch, only when driving?. I dont think I'd want it as dry storage, easier access to the batteries if its like yours. Extra dry storage would be nice though! |

well mine is not dry starage, but like you said easy access to battery, switch board, bilge, fuel water separater etc. i got mine like this to not take up as much space but still be versital. Do as you please sit down with the hatch closed stand up with open or leave open and put equipment there and still have room to sit beside all in how you want it, like I said before my wife fishes from there plenty of room. |
