Ok, i already have the blind frame built into the boat. I have the shadow grass camo codura for the windbreak and I have some shrimp netting and I have the fast grass for the outer part. How do you guys hold everything together, or do you just drape everything over the side of the boat and leave it as that? I was thinking of attaching the netting to the windbreaker some how, or would that be pointless? Also do you guys attach anything to the boat toward the bottom where it drapes over the boat? I was thinking in a strong wind my setup would want to flap around. I'm trying to get this thing done for Saturday, any help and pics would really help me out. |

Zip ties will become your friend! Just pick some up, and zip tie the layers together, and to the frame. It will collapse easier if you zip the camo to the middle frame about a foot a part. |

I know i can zip tie it all together, i was just trying to avoid putting all the holes in the windbreak. Plus i don't want it to start ripping, that stuff ain't cheap. |

I had my wind blocker sewed around the frame on top and then loops on the material to attach grass as needed |

Ok, this is my first blind and I hung the grass flush w/the bottom of my windbreak. I think that I can hang it a little higher so that the lower grass drapes toward the bottom. What do you think? |

Yea- IMO you will want to trim that back or hang it a little higher. Ideally you want the fast grass to fall to the water line, but not in it. If it hangs in the water it will get very heavy number 1, and number 2 it will fall apart. The fast grass deteriorates if left in the water. Don't make it too short though. You want it right at the waterline. |

While we are on the subject of windbreaker I have been wondering...I have just bought Camo Systems die-cut netting and Camo Systems windbreaker / backing. I want to laminate the two together. I was going to perforate the windbreaker to zip tie it to the netting. Will the ripstop nylon rip if I don't seal the perforations? I was thinking about using a soldering iron or heated nail to make the perforations. Is this necessary or can I just punch a hole and be done with it? |

to keep it from flappin in heavy wind, get some 1/2 pipe and zip tie it the length of the material. You can also use it to roll it up when your done ![]() |
