 what size boat?
What size boat should I get for duck hunting? I have a 27hp Kohler ProDrive. Are skiffs better for lillies than bateaus? Are wide or narrow boats better in mud?

 Re: what size boat?
a 18x42 bateau would be my choice for what you described.

 Re: what size boat?
18'x42" is a good choice if you plan on upgradin to a 36 hp in the future. If you plan on keepin dat 27 hp then I would say 17'x42" or 16'x48" the later if you are a big ole boy.

 Re: what size boat?
Well, I'm kind of a big ole boy (270)..........I was thinking 17x44 for the extra foot inside, or would 16x48 be better? I really don't plan to upgrade to 36hp. I just want it to get around on the lease. I've used go-devil LT for the last 18 years and wanna try something new and innovative. I ain't gonna be breaking any speed records because I'll have my boy (10 years old) with me all the time and there's plenty sunken willows and junk around the ponds. I'll need to bust up some lillies early. How do these surface drives do in packed lillies? I've seen the videos of people cutting and spitting lillies out in deep water running wide open, but how about down a slough where you can't run WOT?

 Re: what size boat?
There is a 17x54 made from all 1/8 material. Is this boat too heavy for a 27 PD?
