I want to cut out the center seat. Will this weaken the center part? What i want to do is mount a low profile truck tool box in its place. Would it be better to bolt it or weld it?

Why not just buy a piano hinge and modify the seat already in there? Cut out some of the top of the seat, get a piece of aluminum plate, break it, and install it. That would be a cleaner look while keeping some of the integrity of the original seat.

Sorry to jack your thread man, but can anyone tell me if you can completely cut that middle bench seat out? I want an open floor plan with only one half driver box and a gun box.. where can I find a gun box, and half seat, and would I weld them in or what?
