Anyone run a PD on a alweld flatbottom hull? I cant get a mud motor hull locally so I am considering either an 1848 or 2052 alweld. There is only about a 50 lb difference in the 2 and I tend to always have a lot of stuff in the boat, so I'm leaning towards the 2052. Any advice? Will the 2052 be to much boat for the 36 to push? |

I had a 1650 express with 32 PD. It ran fine (probably 25mph) with 2 people and gear. If you put the 3rd person in the boat then it slowed way down. The boat would not plane out, and sucked a huge wake behind it. I don't know if the larger boat would help. I am convinced that it was the design of the boat though. I just got a 1754 prodrive and kept the same motor. Runs great with a light load, but haven't got a chance to try it loaded yet. |
