wanting to replace my gatortrax 1750 w/huntdeck,reason i carry 3 to 4 people and gear, plus at times a layout.my boat plows through the water,i've already moved people around and still does this.would going to a longer and wider boat help.or should i just chaulk it up and admit i need a deep v and not a mud boat, although i love the mudmotors except in frigid temps, dazed and confused. |

You are the second person that I know of that's complaining about a 1750HD plowing through the water. You should talk to DuckHunterF250 about this and maybe you guys can come up with a solution because he thinks that the boat has some type of belly on it that's holding him back. I also have a 1750GT and do not have this issue. I typically go with 3 guys and my boat still planes out quickly with the water breaking just in front of my rear half boxes. Last week I took 4 guys and it did take a little longer to plane out but it still did. Keep in mind that I have a 17 gallon aluminum tank with a battery under the extended front deck. What engine do you have on it? I have a Mud Buddy 5500 and will do about 25-26 with three guys. 24 with 4 guys. |

my only ? is was your boat always that way or did it do it since you have had it? if it just started doing it then i would start to point at the bottom of your hull, may have some hooks and keep the nose down. if your hull looks good i would say have a compression and leakdown test done on your motor and see if you are loosing there. i have the same rig with a 7000 and my nose plows even with just me in it. now my boat has done this from day one so i know the bottom of my hull isnt the culprit and my motor is a beast to me so i dont think that is it either. ive talked with other people about this on the mudbuddy forum and they swear up and down that that size will flat out haul with a load. so far im stumped. so check your hull and then check your motor would be my advice |

i run a 5500 black death, use run a 35mb.so my boat was slow when i had the 35 so i bought the 5500mb.with me and a friend i was going low 20's,that was in a 10ft channel, with the new 5500.i ran 4 guys loaded in a slight chop did 16.when i by myself boat just plane out flies, add 1 guy so so,3 or more forget it.when run 2 people i still throw a good rooster tail,3 people it so so depending on the water.i already talked to kent so i took my blind off,he believes that i'm plane out overloaded for what i have,he said if i go to a wider boat it would help disperse the weight.my thing is i don;t want to spend the money on a new boat just to have this all again, than to have a dealer say need a bigger motor.maybe i just need a outboard. |

so what does the bottom of your hull look like? u would be surprised at how much hooks will slow you down. |

I'm thinking ya'll definitely have issues somewhere. My rig runs 20 with three people (220,220,150) 60-70 dekes, three guns, two batteries, 8 gal. fuel, and probably 100 + lbs. of other miscellaneous hunting and boat gear. That's on a 1656 GD with a stock MB 27 Mini. Nathan |
