How do y'all think a 1740 or 1744 would run with a 23gtr? Would it be better to run a 35. Just going to hunt with 2 guys usually and a dog sometimes. Hunt big water sometimes and want to be able to run some timber. Really looking for an all around rig. Would a 1640 or 1644 possible run better?

I have a 19x42 with a 35 GTR and I really like it. It doesnt go as fast as a wide boat when loaded down but I like the narrower hull for running grass and lillies and also in the woods. I run about 29 mph by myself (210lbs) with 10 gallons of gas. I think the 17' that youre askin about would run good wit a 23 or a 35.

Just like she said, "bigger is better!" Both the 1644 & 1744 will do fine with either motor, but I'd suggest goin with the 35 and a 1748 or 1848. I was runnin a 1644 with a 35 & it did real well, I wanted more room, so I went with a 1848. The smaller boat doesn't haul a load as well as the bigger boat, and when ya get it overloaded, ya definitely know it.
