They will help if your boat won't float the motor. We have them on one of our rigs...If we would have been on this site prior to putting them on, we probably would have gone another route.

Giga is right his rig turns good we run the same only difference is I have an 1860 with the hunt deck the added flotation in mine really helps any sort of squat that you may see also load carrying ability is increased as GigaFowl stated.

Heavy boat = not great but very capable in mud but handles the rough water I see 90% of the time like a champ! You should buy a boat or get it modified for the conditions you see most if not all the time.

But I agree that pods are just not a great idea

i run pods on my 16 56 with a mini 4000 louisiana special short transom on a 18in boat transom with an 18 degree angle i get good hole shot turns pretty good on plane and idle and i get 28 with one man or 26 to 25 with 1200lb of load i feel the pods help me
