 Hunt deck Tall
Building a boat for a tall transom mud motor. Can someone please give me the measurement from the bottom of the boat to the top of the transom.
I understand short is 16” not clear on tall dimension. Also going for a 24” hunt deck to remedy motor weight. Any idea on the depth I should give the hunt deck.
If I go with 12” height on the hunt deck that gives me 560# of floatation. The motor weighs 300#. It will have a polling platform. With my fat ass that’s an additional 220#. For a total of 520#.
Based on that the polling platform will most likely be nearly submerged. Any experience with that ??
They only mitigating factor is the CG of the unloaded boat. I may see 2” of free board on the polling platform.
Thank you.

 Re: Hunt deck Tall
Transom height depends on the motor you're building it for, PD 19", GT 21", etc. You have a sport H ordered right? I think they are designed for a 20" transom.

 Re: Hunt deck Tall
you are displacing more than just at the hunt deck.

 Re: Hunt deck Tall
I have a Gator Trax Hunt Deck tall and mine measures 21.5" (measured parallel to the transom--and I mean where the motor actually mounts, so NOT vertical measurement)
11.25" from bottom of boat to top of hunt deck

 Re: Hunt deck Tall
The length of the huntdeck is not going to make your boat float any lower of higher. Its all in the total length of the boat.
