Will a short transom huntdeck still stop the water when reversing
And what are the advantages of a tall transom?

Well I have a 27GDSD and wanting to get a boat made and I was gonna get a 35GTR later on so I wanted to know how I could do that,

Just get the tall transom model.

the gdsd handle will clear the transom of the boat if you build it up because of water coming over, not sure about the gtr though. i just got the huntdeck put on my short transom boat, and the bend in the gdsd handle clears the transom enough to where i could build it up if i need to.

The handle is not the issue on the GTR, it floats.

but i have a short transom motor but wanting to get a tall trasnom boat but im short some money right now so wanted to use my GDSD for now so i might get the short trasom with a hunt deck if it helps like the tall transom

i think it could be done, just would have to extend the deck a little

i don't think you're pickin up what I'm puttin down. But do what you want it's you money and your boat.

bbhunter, what quack is sayin is a huntdeck has no effect on the height of the transom as far as usin your motor goes. get the boat built to the specs of your new motor, and put your gdsd on it. it wont run as good as it should, but it will still push the boat.

i have short trasnom and getting a tall trasnom boat will i still be able to at least get on top with fishing gear?
thats all im worried about

when the motor is trimed up would it put the handle in a bind up against the back of the boat or will the handles float that much

i just ordered a boat with a short transom and a huntdeck was this a bad idea or not

i know GDSD floating handles float straight up, if im not mistaken the GTR does the same,
but i know that a PD cant be on a boat witha huntdeck cuz of it not having a floating handle,
correct me if im wrong.
