27 GDSD w/ 1648 Go Devil Boat - Need Advice
I am looking at buying a 1648 Go Devil Boat with a 27 gdsd. Boat and Motor are three years old and engine has 25 hours on it. Boat, trailer and engine seem to be in good condition and he is asking 5000 for it. The rub is that the boat and engine were completely submerged overnight in fresh water. the boat was not running when it went under water. I have gotten mixed reviews on how bad it is that it went under. Any experience on this subject? Should I pursue this further?

If it was cleaned out properly, and not submerged too long, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. You, unfortunately, will never really know what exactly happened and what was done to fix it. That seems like a pretty fair price to me. Take it out and run it for as long as you can, maybe an hour or two. If everything is good, it's probably okay... Maybe some other opinions, but I know of one that was sunk. It's had about another 100 or so hours since, with no problems.

X2, I thought Go-Devil boats had level floatation.
If everything was drained and cleaned out fairly soon it shouldnt be hurt.

He is saying that the boat went under because the water level in the lake rose suddenly, but I don't understand how it could have sunk even with the plug out unless the floatation has been removed? I will have to investigate that further. Still doubt that I will get the whole/real story, but it seems from what I've heard is that if the compression is still good, the engine should be alright. I will definitely give it a long test drive before I buy it to be sure.
