If you travel thru a lot of thick stuff and you have to grind your way thru mud or vegetation a tiller handle could be easier to operate. If you travel thru mostly open water and have long rides then a console is sweet to have.

I also use my boat for duck hunting and like the room of the open floor plan.

The price does go up if you want remote steering. I personally prefer the tiller handle over the console. I find it easier to operate for what i use it for.

I am converting my GTR to steering right now. The tiller is nice and has its perks but this is how I see it. I do more driving the boat on long runs then getting stuck so I would rather have the steering. The 18x54 is also a good choice thats what boat I run. I can get 31 out of my boat bymyself and about 28 with 2 people and fishing gear you will love the boat.
