Ok well ive searched for almost 2 hours now, and I havent got the answers I want so I decided to start a thread over it.. Im looking at getting a 16ft southfork slick, with a mud buddy sd on the back (Killer price), and its got one middle bench seat, which I hate.. my question is.. Can you cut the bench seat out with a grinder without losing to much support for the middle? Also, I want a small gun box on one side of the boat, and a half box seat, or just a regular seat period so that I can drive and sit down on those long runs, How do I add a seat, and gun box to the boat? Would I just weld the gun box in..? |

Thanks bud, and yeea, im practically stealing the motor and getting a free boat. The guy was at work when I was asking questions so I didint get to get into all that, what i do know is, it's vertically braced, not sure on how heavy, but I've done a good bit of research on the boat and from what people say it's a real well made boat, so im sure the bracing is pretty heavy duty. Not sure of the seat is part of the bracing or not? It does have a floor in it, and is a slick bottom, semi v. |

Just a thought, but how far from Londale, AR are ya. Ya might just be close enough to bring it to Gaylon & get him to fix it up how ya want it. |

Sometimes, when these boats are made, boxes and decks are used for structural strength. Brasso... Text me some pictures of it. I can look and give you my opinion on the transformation. A back driving pod would be fairly easy to add. The idea of taking out the middle bench is the only concern. Though, chances are, you will be OK. |

I did the same thing to a 1985 polar kraft 14' riveted. I havent had any trouble with mine the last 8 years. I hunt reelfoot lake a lot and it is a stumpfield. |
