Post subject: | Huntdeck/ Pods |
Whenever i begin a project I try to make sure i do everything right, and with this boat build I have decided to add some extra flotation to the back of my current project. I was set on having a set of pods fabricated for me and welded on but after cruising around I have found another option, a huntdeck... so i was wondering if there was any obvious benefits to getting a huntdeck vs flotation pods. Im more inclined to go for the pods because of the limited room on my trailer and a lt sticking another 15" off the rear of the boat will really flip the tongue up when trailered... I think i may already be in water with the lt setting on the original transom (in a balancing weight sense). The only benefit i am really seeking is extra flotation to compensate for the weight of a heavier motor in the water and to help keep the nose from flying skyward upon throttle. If you can't tell im kinda lost haha |

I could be quickly corrected but Im pretty sure the physics for the huntdeck and pods are completely different. A huntdeck just adds a foot to your boat and the motor weight still hangs off the far end. However, with pods, the flotation is even with or surpasses the motor thus actually benefitting. The pods will actually pick up the motor. Think levers. |
