I'm trying to find someone who has the LED light kit that Mud Buddy sells on their website. Its the same one on the Excel boats. I'm considering buy one for my next boat but had a few questions. Are the lights removable? And of so, does it leave a base on the boat, or does the whole assembly come off? If it leaves a base on the boat, can someone post some pics of this setup. I like the light kit, but I'm wanting something removable and that looks clean when removed. |

Scott, I'll try to take a closer look @ em tomorrow & post some pics, but I'm thinkin the base is permanent mounted. Actually, I believe the whole thing is. Seems like the light bar pivots on a bolt thru the frame, which can be removed, but would be a PITA. |

Thanks Rob. Let me know for sure. Cuz that'll make my decision if it's not removable. |

The light kit mounts with four self tapping screws. |

I have them on my excel and they are not removable however they have a strap that comes off and this allows the light to swivel left or right. Hope this helps. |

It lights up everything in front of the boat and the LEDS look awesome. It has a great light pattern. I really like the leds and the way they are mounted. If you just want them for driving in the marsh at night they work great if you wanted them for mostly bowfishing or fishing at night then you might need to get a couple more lights. |

I would recommend them. You can position both lights so one looks high and the other looks low. Doing this provides for a greater view at night. The only problem I have had with these lights are in a snow storm I couldnt see anything. The lights are so bright and the snow was falling so fast and hard that it blinded me to try and drive. You will not be disappointed. ![]() |
