Went fishing today. No rain for weeks and river is low. So low that everybody has to get out and pull boats thru shallow sandbar areas. to keep from having to do like everybody else i have to run mm at half throttle to keep boat on plane. so i round the corner and two guys are dragging there boat. i stroke past them but keep my distance (30 yards). They catch up to me later in the day bitching, cussing, going to call the warden. Told them what the deal was, they said i should pull my boat like everybody else. Was i in the wrong? |

Reminds me of two years ago at the boat ramp on Front ridge road in Pecan Island, this guy was looking at the four gator tail rigs we where putting on the trailers has has the insight to let us know there was no way you would catch him running one of them "#@&*%" lawn mower engines (him running about a 17-18' jon w/about a 60 yamaha). That all good, to each his own until he start's to bitch about he cant hunt but one section of his lease with the water outthe marsh like it was that morning ![]() |

Some people just look for somethin to bitch at. If you woulda slowed down they would have bitched at you for not givin a tow. I try to keep my distance in situations like that, and if you had slowed down the wake you threw goin off step woulda been even bigger. |

Gonna have to agree with everyone on this one. Only thing I questioned was the 30 yards. Is that all the room you were able to give em, or is it just all you gave em? I mean, if you had a 1/2 mile & only gave em 30 yrds, I'd probly be a lil pissed off too, but if all ya had was 40 & you gave 30, then fork em in their whiny azzes. |

The fact of the matter is there are so many people on the water, and alot of them are jackasses and have no boating knowledge. It's hard to keep everybody happy. They were just pissed that they thought you were going get their spot lol. The shit that makes my blood boil is the lack of courtesy and display of idiocy at boat launches. One of the really nice things about owning a mudmotor is all of the out of the way half ass boat launches that other people can't use but a mm can access. |

There are people out there that just are a-holes and because they don't have something they'll hate on the people with them, like surface drives. We have a WMA manager that hates surface drives. People like that look at something once and make an opinion without knowing a damn thing about it. Just like my neighbor saying there is no point in a 4wd truck. You just can't argue with stupid. |

Don't feel sorry for them not buyin somethin to get them through it. Couple of weeks ago, we were heading up a creek, came around a corner, about 30 yards wide, a guy had a little single man "crawdad" type platic boat tied to a sunken tree. I slowed way down, and it still about threw his ass outta the boat and damn near swamped him. hell, short of stopping, there was nothing I could do. Shet happens, and everybody is not always gona be happy. |

Always seems like there is that one guy at every small launch that just pulls his trailer far enough up to get the bearings out of the water. |

Course I still laugh every time I think about pulling into the launch on the Red and see a guy with a long pole on the end of the dock. He is poking the pole down into the water. I tied up my boat and then couldn't resist asking him what he was doing. He said "I'm looking for my truck"!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

nothing is worse than someone who backs down a 2 lane ramp and takes up 2/3 of the whole thing, leaving just enough room. In the day, it's not too bad because you can see, but these ass hats back down and don't even have the courtesy or intelligence to at least dim their lights or turn em off. |

The best place in the world to see a cussin get delivered is a ramp at a refuge when someone holds up the procession. There is a steep learning curve. |

That is my biggest complaint at the ramp, I will spend 10 minutes AWAY from the launch, making sure motor is warmed up, all my gear is in the boat etc. The only thing I have to do is un hook the bow & back the boat up off the trailer. It really bothers me when a jerk cuts in front of you at the ramp after you doing all this only to watch him still have the straps on the stern, the motor support, he needs to load his ice chest, 5 kids & wife, the family dog is now running around the launch... ![]() |

It all comes down to common courtesy. People these days have none. I don't believe most folks are trying to be an azz, they just don't think of anyone else but themselves. Those same folks, after launching will dik around with their boat floating in the launch instead of moving it over and out of the way to finish the circle jerk they started in the parking lot. My favorite thing to do if they launch and don't move their boat is get lined up and gas it backwards down to ramp and dump my rig right in their lap. I seem to trade paint with at least 1 every season. Funny how they scramble then to GTF out the way so they dont get themselves or their boat run over then. |

SC law is 50 ft and you can run wide open if you'd like...if those morons didn't wanna deal with those that had the ability to make it, they shouldn't have been out there in the first place! Fork em, next time, hit em with the boat and assure you were only trying to give em a push! And for the idiots that try to load/unload truck after taking up entire ramp when there would be plenty of room, fork them too! My girlfriend was backing the trailer in Saturday and actually stopped and yells at me/the guy "Who does that? Really, get out of the way!" IT WAS AWESOME!! Very simple statement, but coming from a girl at a packed ramp, well, he put the hurry on after that! |

I was in the drive-thru waiting in line at dq and this little bastard in the car in front of me jumped into the back seat and was flipping me the bird thru his back window. Momma and dad was seeing the whole thing. He was maybe 8y/o. I came up like you said camo. Shit like that was not tolerated. Yes sir, yes ma'am in my house. |
