i know that, but looking i dont have too much room by the center console for the radio. i meant like where would you mount amps etc??? would the speakers have clear sound b/c they are not in a "closed in box"? recommend any brands of marine radios and speakers? |

i had exposed speakers in my rhino, w/ no box, the sound wasnt as clear, but it got the job done. how hard is it to take the console off, fab everything up in it, then put it back on? u can get a whole pyle radio setup from academy w/ 4 speakers, weather proof cover, and weather cd player for 100 dollars rite now. |

Pyle is junk in my opinion. Go on ebay and look up Sony marine stereo. They usually have a combo with head unit and 2 black 6.5 inch speakers. Black speakers look alot better in a mudboat and the quality is better than the pyle junk. They run about 150 on ebay. They sound good in the high and mid range, but the bass sucks without an enclosure. I am getting ready to buy 2 more 6.5 speakers, an amp and 6 inch tube. That should make the boat a floating disco. |

Jp I got a system for my old mitchcraft from boater world on vets. I think it was 150 for radio and speaker and that sucker rocked. Untill I blew the radio when I hooked my battery up backwards lol. The speakers were exposed no box around them or anything like that. |

I just bought a Pyle CD player, 2 speakers and the waterproof front enclosure for $90 at Cabelas. I know Pyle probably sucks but I hate to spend too much money on something that will be out in the weather 24/7 and could easily be stolen. I have a Sony marine CD in my ice chest radio that I could switch out if needed. Does anyone have a good place to buy the waterproof radio box that is self-contained? Cabelas wanted $80 for the box and I didn't know if that was a good price. I want to mount the radio on the side of my seat box facing up because I don't want to cut big holes in my box and the radio would take up a lot of room. |

I bought a Pyle system similar to the one Willitt posted but I don't really have a place to mount flush speakers. Does anyone know where I can find a waterproof speaker box or have any creative ways to mount them without cutting into my pod seat? I might just have to buy the speakers that already come in a box and find another use for the one's I have. |

Gents check this out. You don't have the radio but it is to plug your Ipod into. I have the instructions, but cannot post. Tried but cannot. Just let me know and I can send it to you. It is for boats with an open front beck |

Do a search. We had 2 threads going about the pipe bomb. Its a good solution. And its mobile so you can put it on your 4 wheeler or just carry it on your shoulder while walking down the street. ![]() |

1st off I would shop those speakers ANYPLACE but West Marine. That place's prices are laughable. If you want to do a setup with similar brackets, you might consider bending your own material. If you want 2 90 degree bends on a piece of aluminum, take it to a machine shop with a brake. I'm sure it wouldnt be anymore than a $10 cash sale. There's another good online website I use, but I will say their site is a bit hard to navigate. www.boatfix.com. They have EVERYTHING marine, they stock it all, and their prices cant be beat. I have a few of their catalogs and they are thicker than a Chicago phone book. |

You can get a piece of al. flat bar at home depot and bend it on a picnic table with a c-clamp and hammer. |
