OK. Plenty of members on this site know i have had my problems with my boat. Some say I am just to hard on it, some say its built bad, and some say they all do it. I got avout 160hrs on my hull. Today when i was relocating my rod box i noticed my bottom is bowed up about 1/4". This is in the back of the boat from the transom to the center of the boat! Im about to drop a 2000 pound skid on that bitch to flaten it out and see what happens. All you boat building FE's got a way to make it somwhat flat again? this is with 5/16" thick aluminum bottom with 1/4 poly on to boot. I have 1x2 long braces and 3 2x2 cross braces (only 1 is inside affective area). anyone else ever notice a problem like this? Wonder why............. |

I had the same problem -- My transom was coming apart and was flexing bad I beat the big dent out with a rubber mallet and had the transom reinforced |

![]() ![]() actualy the fisrt bottom is still there its just COVERED up by 3/16. More than likely the long braces were never fixed durign the first repair becuuse i do not think (i could be wrong) that i could push up 5/16 thick aluminum, 1 2x2 cross brace and 2-4 long braces......and never have a busted weld, poped rivet, or poping floor........do you? Its all good and you get what you get in life. It kinda makes me wonder how many boats like mine lasted over a few years. I know of plenty that had problems but the issues never surfaced round these parts.... wounder if i actuatly got a Geaux Custome hull...LMAO ![]() ![]() |

When I fixed Willet's old boat, per muddoctor's instruction, I ripped out the false floor, clamped heavy wall steel tube to the gunnels, put a bottle jack under the steel pipe and pushed the floor back flat. There was a 2x2x3/16" wall transverse brace under the jack that I welded in before relieving the pressure. I added a total of 4 2x2's. You can search this forum for pictures. FYI, there were a sheet ton of broken welds under the false floor that needed rewelded. I proceeded to beat that poor little rig and couldn't get ANYTHING to move after the repairs. ............Sounds like you need to fix it and send it down the road! |

I won't ever be able to send it down the road. I guess I'm just to honest with tire kicker and they ez on down the road. Wouldn't feel right if I fixed it and past the join because I would always be wondering if it fell apart somewhere else.. |

LOL!! Yeah, that was a tragic accident when she went down! ![]() Good for you being an honest guy and not passing it off to the next guy, but there are guys out there that can weld that will buy it at a discount and accept the problems it has. Either way, good luck. It really sucks to not be happy with your boat. |

Been coming here for a long time and have seen you post up the progress of your boat over the years and thought I saw that Ricky Aucion had built your boat. Have you talked to him about your problems? I saw a while back that Uncle J has teamed up with Ricky, does this mean that they will pick up the warranty work on the boats that Ricky built in the past. If so it sounds like you are in business! |

I could probably visit with Ricky but I know that there is no warranty on the hull. He would probably do anything for me but all it would do is cost him time and money and I don't wish that on anyone. He knows the problems and said this would happen but he also thought the 3 cross braces and extra 3/16 of bottom would help. I'm just going to roll with it. I have fixed everything this year and it hasn't busted loose yet so I'm going to do the same here. I will tell you that it turns much better but the speed has dropped WAY down...LOL |
