Post New Hull
i got a 16hp gdlt pushing a 1436 riveted hull right now and im looking to upgrade hulls. i really want to get a 18' hull and plan on runnin the 16 on it until i can afford a bigger motor. i was wondering if that would be enough motor to get on step until i can get a bigger motor.i dont usually carry alot of weight but that will be changing before long. i dont know how wide im gonna go yet but the bigger the better. thanks guys.

18' would be OK temporarly wit dat 16 hp as long as you don't go over 42" wide.

I would suggest just saving alittle more till u can get both. Alot of guys run a 1848 all the way to the 1856. Imo a 42 is too narrow if u ever run big water but if not u might be ok. I like the stability of a little wider boat
