Ive been running my boat with the GTR for almost 2 yrs. When I bought the motor I made some aluminum wedges to go between the transom and the motor saddle to put the motor on 20 degrees like a gator tail boat. Well I finally installed them couple days ago. This little skiff of mine never had much trouble gettin out of anything I ever put it in so Im kinda curious to see what it got now. I lined up with a GTB a while back on a mudflat and he was able to take off quicker than me. But my boat is lighter and now with the motor where it should be im thinking It might be pretty bad ass. Im gonna find out Sunday. I know nobody cares but I just felt like I needed to tell somebody bout it. :)

That is all.

I'm glad to hear it, Jacob. Can you post a pic of how you did it? There's a few people trying to figure out how to make some.

Why didnt you re-angle it when you added the huntdeck?

Because when adding a hunt deck, you actually don't always lengthen the boat. Sometimes we just notch the deck.

My old boat I just took a piece of 3/8 flat bar and just wedge across at the top! It worked!!

Just an update. After riding in sandy cove sunday, although we didnt find much mud, I do find my boat takes off easier in the lil mud I did get to get into. I am able to trim down alot further than w/o the wedges and it doesnt blow out like before.

Beside the reverse and takin off are there any other positives to adding the wedges?

It runs just like it always did but now it reverses better and takes off easier in mud.

Has anyone tried axle degree shims? I had to put some on a buddies truck one time to correct the drive angle. Don't know if this would work, just throwing an idea...
