Post Where can I get pods near NC.
I'm in NC and am looking to have some float pods made for an Alumacraft 1232. I know the boat is small and some would say just get a bigger boat. But my time has already been invested in the boat. Being small it has made it difficult finding a pod to fit. It looks like I'm going to need a custom built pod. Anybody no somewhere I can go near NC to get this done. Any help is appreciated.

Beavertail makes different sizes so you could ck with them...

BUT

I would shy away from pods if possible and IF I went ahead with them, would make sure they are designed properly. (that you leave enough taper at rear of pod so you can get on plane)

You also don't say what motor you are running and that can make a difference...

The smallest beavertail pods would leave no gap in between them. Also the top of my drain plug is 2 inches from the bottom of my boat. So I'm sure I need custom. I have a 6.5hp LT but would like a gap which would leave it easier to sell later with outboard. And I've looked into the half inch taper they recommend and thats going to be a must when installed.

Any competent welding shop should be able to accomplish the task. I'm sure there is probably one or more in your area. Take them a picture and give them your measurements. Try a few different places, be nice if you could find one who actually does quite a bit of work on boats.
