I was wondering if any of you run a Legend Craft. If so, what are your thoughts on them.

I have a 1652 Legendcraft and I like the boat fine, it is built like a tank. Definately not a speed burner.

I had one and the welds cracked on the transom. They generally come with a crimped bottom which I did not like - terrible in mud and slowed me down.

If you are hunting the basin and want that style of boat just buy a lowe and have Pepper cut the seats - much cheaper and the same boat as a Legend.

I had a Legend 1852 Mod V. Good quality boat, Legend works with you to build exactly the boat you want as far as layout. The crimps on the bottom were not as good as a dead flat smooth bottom boat. Legends are not longitudinally braced like mud specific boats: Phowler, Pro Drive, Gator Tail, Go Devil and Gator Trax, to name a few. That is a minus.

I ended up selling my Legend to a guy who primarily fishes, including trolling, but also wanted to go shallow on occasion. Perfect for that.

I havent been on here for a few days, but I decided that I am either going with a Gatortrax or a local boat company as an experiment for the company.

Well, after an afternoon with the company and autocad, I am having a prototype built. If I like it I just have to cover their losses, if I dont nothing. It is a smooth bottom, tapered chine made out of .125, and lengthwise bracing. When it is done, Ill post a review.
