Post trolling motor mount?
I bought a 50lb minn kota trolling motor for my 16x48 custom built. It has a flat nose with a built in handle and 6" lights up front so mounting the motor on the front of the boat isn't an option. Would mounting it on the port side of the boat, about 2 feet from the front be an issue? Also, the trolling motor will only be used during fishing season and would only be mounted and unmounted one time a year. That being said, should I get a quick release mount? Something like this...

As to the mounting on the side no it won't cause a problem other than just being awkward. The the quick mount that's your choice but my motor guide has 6 bolts. You need about 5 minutes to take it off
