 Hull with motor question...
Got an .80 gauge 1648 that is rated for a 40hp. Will it hold a 35GT, not a GTR, (even thought there isn't much difference in the lbs.)? I am also concerned about the bow bouncing up and down because the boat is light and then water also coming over the transom at times. I posted a topic like this a while back, but then I was looking at the 23's but I thought I would just put alittle more money with it and get a bigger one because thats what everyone says do because you will always want more motor... Replies are appreciated...

Better stay out of the stumps and timber. You'll be selling it for scrap in no time.

 Re: Hull with motor question...
A 35gt or gtr would make the boat bounce alot unless you put trim tabs on it and a good bit of weigth in the front.I have a 17X44 1/8 thick charles lenard skiff with a 35 gtr and gas tank in front.but when the tank starts getting low on gas it starts bounceing a little.

 Re: Hull with motor question...
Pods properly fabricated on your boat will solve both of those problems.

 Re: Hull with motor question...
I had a 35 GT on a 1448 .80 guage... i had to put trim tabs on it but that was it... i just welded a 4"x2" tab on each side of the stern at the bottom and bent them down just a little bit... and it stopped the bouncing.. I have done the same with a 16x48... and Im having to do the same now with a 17x48..
