Post xpress 1546 Flotation pods or not
I have a 2006 xpress hd 1546 i plan on using for duck hunting with a 25hp 2 stroke. My boat sits a bit low in the back with my fat ass (240lbs) back there and the motor. I want to put floatation pods (Beavertail) on the back to help counter weight the boat make it ride more level at slower speeds. My question is should i do it? Is it worth doing?

Done right, they will help.

Done wrong, you will want to kick yourselfin the ass every time you take it out.

BTW there are only 10000 pod threads.

so what is the right way? Do I just do it like the instructions say or is there a special way to do it so you don't kick yourself. I guess I'm not looking in the right spot to see the other threads on pods I don't mean to be repeditive.

Use the search feature. Keywords: pods, building pods, built pods, fabricating pods, build pods, etc. Be creative. That will get you a ton of info and let you know the up's and down's of pods. They will "fix" certain issues, but sometimes can cause more problems than they are worth. I will say if you are gonna do it, you are much better off having them built specifically for your boat by someone who knows what they are doing. Not buying a "prefab" pod set up.

Pods are a bandaid on a bullet would. Better option is to get rid of the boat before you start hacking it up. Get what you can for it and get a boat that better suits your needs.

Willet on here is in Tyler. I'm pretty sure he can get you taken care of. If not, there is a fella in Marshall that has taken good care of us for the last few years. He built a set of pods for my Dad's old boat (believe Willet actually helped with that project). It was before we knew any better. It did "fix" the problem, but did not fix the fact that it was not the right boat. Boat has since been sold, and we are both running custom built 1848's now.

PM willet. If he is not able to get you squared away for some reason, shoot me a pm and I will get you in touch with Andy.
