I'm telling you. Plow anchor is where it's at. If your in zero water. All y out have to do is step on it and bury it In the sand/mud. It might drag for a few feet when you start wenching but it will grab and stay

We need to know the story on that one.

Well, if you were anywhere in south Louisiana, you probably saw the epic low tides Friday and into Saturday before the winds shifted back out of the south.....

That was the second issue.

The first was a tree stump remnant from a tree that had fallen across the trenasse. Whoever cut it, didn’t cut it far back enough. Came through the trenasse bouncing off the banks to begin with...and tall float grass. Rake rides up on the stump. Throttled to keep the back port side from going under. Boat basically did a bunny hop onto the exposed marsh bank on port side...leaving the starboard side exposed. If you know about airboats, if you have power, you get through these kinds of things. Well, that stump sticking out caught the cage and brought me to a complete stop....which allowed the starboard side to be overcome. It was quick! Had both my phones in my pocket...both got fried!

It was a long walk out....and a lot of back and forth walking from where I could get the skiff, hauling ropes, come-alongs, slings, a 16 gallon drum, an anchor, 2x6’s, ratchet straps....just stuff that I used for Cajun engineering to keep everything above the rising tide until Monday when reinforcements arrived with 860 HP airboat and a chainsaw winch.

Dude they sucks. I can’t tell you how many times I saw air boats sink in Des Allemand’s in my life time. It sure doesn’t take much

I carried a very large fluked anchor out there and tried using it to no avail. Just kept pulling it out of the canal bank. At one point, I had a come along choked off to the base of a tree and started pulling the root ball out of the ground.

Kudos to a young fella and his grandfather that were fishing nearby. They saw my skiff (500 yards from where I was) and started hollering. They loaned me a very long piece of rope that came in handy! Thanks, Cameron Adams!

We managed to all get stuck this past Sunday. Man I should have taken photos. Even an inboard got stuck. Unfortunately probably the last lower water weekend until next fall
