 Honest question
I have a 1448 Triton welded boat I use for fishing. Thinking about putting a Gator Tail 23 on it for hunting in tight places. I know it's not the ideal setup for a mud motor, but it's what I got. I already have an 1860 Excel F4 with a 36 Pro Drive so I am familiar with mud motors. My question is will a 1448 float a 23 GTR? It's got a 19 inch transom. Im doubting it, but it is 48 inches wide, just short at 14 feet. Reason I want the GTR is for instant reverse. Some educated input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chase.

 Re: Honest question
I know I guy that had a 23 mb on a short transom 1442 and it sat pretty low.
The tall transom and extra width it will prolly do all you can expect.

 Re: Honest question
You think you could sell the boat and get a longer one in it's place real quick? That would be the way to go.

 Honest question
That's not an option. I'll probably call Kyle at GT and see what he thinks. That motor is heavy. That's the only reason in wondering.

 Re: Honest question
DMD09 I got 14 x 48 homemade flat with 1/4 inch bottom and 3/16 side with a 35 GT, its a TANK but that thing passes.....if your sides are 18 to 20 you should be good with a 23 r 35 but for the price of the two I would just get a 35 GT thats just my theory...

 Honest question
How tall is your transom tank?

 Re: Honest question
Correction. Mine is a 16 inch transom. That means I'd have to get the short transom model. I hope the boat will float it without swamping.
