I have a 2012 Excel vf4 with diamond city trailer. I am wanting to sell it after duck season is over. What do you think it is worth? |

If it were your boat to sell how much would you ask? Comes with boat, trailer, 2 seats, dual led spotlights, bilge pump, 9 gallon gas tank, and avery blind. |

The boat was 8,500 I think and the trailer was 1,250...that's not including the blind, etc. |

Honestly I would say take all the money you are gonna throw at this trade to get rid of the excel and spend it doing a little work on your motor. Upgrade to a 45 with heads or go ahead and add the carb to finish it off and make it a bps 5500 (if its a cdi, get the 4700 rpm coils), and I think you will be more than pleased with the hull you already own. Lots of folks running that boat with comparable loads and a few tricks on the motor and they are plenty satisfied. Even just heads and exhaust may do what you are wanting. Stock briggs heads are notorious for leaking and leaving a considerable amount of power on the table. |

Cb just gave some good advice to ya. The other is get a mudmotor hull. The xpress definitely ain't the answer. |

Oh, I didn't realize that wasn't one of the mudmotor hulls. Either way the boat will probably work out fine with a few tricks on the motor. If you are hellbent on getting rid of that boat, do it right this time. IMO, the xpress (whether designed for a mm or not), is another waste of time. Talk to gatortrax if you wanna spend that kinda dough and get a production hull built for your motor. I would be talking to some of the custom builders on this site though. Get a lot more bang for your buck, and they will build em any way you want. |

Ship your powerhead to boatdr. Even if you upgrade all the way to a 5500 with coils and pay shipping both ways, probably still gonna cost less than the trade you were trying to make. If you just want to try heads and exhaust, you can do this on your own. It is very, very, simple to install a new set of heads and an exhaust. If you order from the BoatDr, he will ship you everything you need to complete the install and can walk you through anything you need help with over the phone. |
