 falt bottom ?
can i run a 27hp pd on my 16ft starcraft taht guy at the phowler dealer said it would rip my transom out.

The best results will be to pair a mm with mm hull. They are built to be compatible and maximize the performance of the rig.

ive had my PD on a tin can of a flat bottom john boat for 2 years now and i all i did was find a buddy who welded aluminium and had him reinforce it a little bit. no problems since then. hope this helps
