Hey guys I just got a 23 hp Mud Buddy Mini HD Hyperdrive only problem is now I'm broke  I'm new to mud motors other than hunting out of my buddies gator trax w/ 35 on it last season (that thing was a tank.) So I guess my question is what is the minimum size boat I can put this motor on? I've been searching craigslist for 16 foot jons that come w/ a trialer and no motor. I realize I'm not going to be able to do the crazy shit we did my buddies boat last year but I just need a temp boat until I can afford a good one. Thanks for any advise.

You SOB!

Any 15-16x 36 or larger will work. Mini's only weigh in at around 160 so not a ton of weight hanging off back. Hell i would put it on a 1436 but could be a little crazy. :o

What about the minimum boat for a Prodrive 32hp?

The same length only you will probably need a stiffer transom. Just remember that these are minimum requirements. A 16' would probably be much safer and better.

A buddy has a 23 mini on a 1546 riveted alumacraft. Keeps right up with my 1648 riveted and 27 pd both with a 2 guy load, 20-21mph.....thing has a hell of a hole shot!!

If you are searching craigslist for a boat remember www.searchallcraigs.com. It is a site that searches all US craigslist pages. Very cool. This site can expand your chances of finding the right rig / deal within road trip range.

Happy hunting.
