Should a 35GTR be mounted in the center of the transom, or should it be offset to one side?? I seem to remember some talk about offsetting the engine to one side about 1 inch. If so, which side. Thanks ![]() |

offset an inch or two to reduce tiller torque. |

Got mine on centered. Went test drive it on the new boat before I bolted it down and center was perfect. Just tighten up the set screws on the motor and test it before you drill and bolt it up. |

thank for the info. Any idea on which side to move it to reduce tiller torque? |

i THINK an inch to the left if looking behind the boat was what was told to me but i am constantly taking it off and on to run two motors and if centered or off an an inch or two i dont notice any difference. Tiller torque is super minimal on mine. |

Mount it centered and move the load in the boat or adjust the skeg. There is no need to offset. |

I ran my old boat 1" offset to the port side. I think with a narrow boat it is better to have it offset. My new rig is a wider boat and is centered and does well with it. try it offset it won't hurt anything. |
