I used to be a dealer for them. Great welded boats. In fact, I still run a 1448 with a 30 mariner on it. It is just 80 gauge but has held up extremely well. It does slide badly in hard turns because it is a square chine. Now, I don't know if they offer a longitudinal bracing system or if it is still lateral bracing....you do NOT want lateral bracing because like mine, yours will eventually get a hooked hull from all the dents. Ive got a 16x48 allweld and it has help up pretty well considering the beating it takes. I had to have the trasom support re welded after 3 or 4 seasons of abuse and heavy trailering...that cost me less than $100. Its light, fast, and affordable. That being said I would like to have a mud boat built sometime soon... |

Thanks guys. Pretty set on a 1842 actually. It's $50 more fer 2 more feet en from what I read on here da longer da boat da better fer a MM. Just crossin fingers my 27 will do er good fer speed. Da new ones are .100 gauge so der built better den da old .080 used ta be. Got da split seat en floored and sided da whole inside so der ain't no ribs ta be trippin on which will make er a lot more sturdy too. Also got da extended deck ta put da gas tank en battery up front. |

I had a 16x44 .100 gauge for three years...the model I had was the pan fish version. It had what Alweld called skins. No way for trash and debris to get under the sub floor becasue it was seal welded front to back. |
