I have an old boat that I want to fix up and was wondering what the best and most durable spray/roll on bed liner. I want to do both the inside and outside bottom and all. It is just a 12 footer so I'm not worried about speed or slowing the boat down, I'm just wanting something that will be tough. Thanks ahead of time. |

If it is only 12 ft your not going to want that much weight added to it. |

What about liner on the bottom and just paint the rest, would that work? |

Just paint the whole thing, if you want to coat the bottom with something use frog spit, gator glide, etc |

Wonder if you could get some of that stuff to stick to a chrome bumper? |

Liner on the bottom of the boat is going to begin peeling off in the front from beaching it and running it onto the trailer, then it begins peeling off all the way to the back a little at the time. Also, the turbulence it causes will kill any performance you can get from that set up. look into gator glide or frog spit for the bottom. |

Outside I wouldn't use a liner...bad idea. Inside for DIY try the rockit liner from SEM. Pretty good stuff. |

Thanks for all of the advice guys. This is an old boat that belonged to my dad before he passed away and it is the only thing that I have that was his. So I really want to do it right to preserve both the boat and the memory. Please keep the advice coming. |

if you are dead set on inside and out just make sure you coat it where there are no seems with a quality liner like line-x, this way the entire boat is encased in a shell and there is no way it can start to peel. i think they can spray with or without texture, so inside with texture outside without for less drag. i've had line-x on the floor of my boat for 3 years and it still looks brand new. |

Also guys I'm looking to get a small mud motor for this boat, what would be a good HP range without going too big? Thanks |

paint it whatever color on the ouside/inside I would go with Gator Glide on the bottom and probally like a 6.5hp or maybe a 9hp longtail. You would have a pretty good setup with that. IMO |

Gator Glide on the bottom!!!!!! It won't "peel off" as previously stated, it's tough as nails, slicker than owl shit, awesome stuff. |
