to me it just seems like a very unversitile boat. built for speed, low sides, and not many standard options. I have a bud with one a 17x50 or 52 w/ mb 35hypersport w duals and cant break 27 honestly. ID look at something a little more useful and forget that 1-2mph you lose. But thats just me. |

I looked hard at Gator Trax and adopted some ideas for my Gator-Tail from studying all the different boat manufacturers. I was also told they were a heavy boat (Gator Trax) |

well, here is my plan i want to keep the 3-man gator hide for huntin season (really like the way this boat hunts) and get a boat built for speed, for use in the spring and summer (runnin round and fishin) not needin to carry a load much in the summer.....what ya think, if we talkin straight speed? |

My buds is a round chine boat. If you already got a good huntn hull i think it's a great idea. it'll be way more fun to play around in that the hide . |

It's a never ending arguement but iv been told and believe myseld that a square or taperd chine will be a couple mph faster that a round chine boat. And draft less. Just turning sucks balls. |

i thought you were stuck on the gt hull. I do think if speeds your objective you can find a gator tail or custom hull thats a good bit faster. Look at deltaduckmasters new hull it's NICE |

havent been in the 1840 but have run with a 1754 with a 35 gatortail with exhaust, heads, cam, and tuned stock carb and he hits 34-35mph. and very comfortable while doing it. i can only imagine the speed behind an 1840 it's gotta fly. |
