I grew up in backwater Arkansas using a flat jon and a small outboard. Few years ago I bought a Go devil boat and longtail. It has worked well for me but age and injuries make it hard for me to run. Sold it and am now looking for a duckboat/fishing replacement. I hunt and fish mostly in smaller rivers, and their attached sloughs. Some open water duckin on a local lake. Most of the areas I go are full of submerged stumps, logs, lillypads. The open water lake is fairly shallow with LOTS of stumps where the standing timber has fallen. My plan is to go either Prodrive or GTR and I sure like the looks of a skiff. However I have never operated in one and have no knowledge. Based on the above info give me any helpful thoughts you can. Pros, cons, good, bad, whatever your experience. Thanks, Bob |

Someone on here once said, "If you have to ask about a skiif you dont need one." but the search feature will bring up a few threads about owning skiffs. |
