 Cross Bracing
Is it needed?
All of the aluminum boats I've looked at has cross bracing that extends up the inside side of the boat except for these boats. Which I believe are Aucoin boats. I really like the crimp and look of this. It's clean and sharp! Is the bracing needed for support? Is he getting away without the bracing because of the strength the wider gunwale caps adds?

Thanks

 Re: Cross Bracing
Yes it is needed. I believe he had to go back and add cross bracing to several boats.

 Re: Cross Bracing
My new GT has cross bracing in it.
Without cross bracing, the bottom & sides flex too much & will lead to stress cracks.

 Re: Cross Bracing
Thx.......Sounds like I need the bracing.
Mr. Borel was telling me on a 20' boat he would probably put 4 of them.

 Re: Cross Bracing
I have 3 Cross braces, and the middle one is under the floor. The front and rear ones are on top. I requested it that way. Here in South, LA I dont have an issue.

 Re: Cross Bracing
Yep, sounds right. Trust him, the man's been building boats longer than some of the jacklegs on the forum have been alive.
