Post Frawn Holders
For years we have been using palm frawns to blind up with, well we call them Palm Frawns, but I'm not sure if that's they're real name. We have always used PVC ran along the sides of our boats to hold the frawns. Frawns are a pain to deal with , but the ducks really do work alot better than with a traditional blind when we're blinded up in the open.
A while back I saw a picture of a guys boat that he had used piping from a chain link fence and had it welded all the way around the boat, every foot or so he used the same piping but cut in 4 inch pieces and welded it to the frame that he had built to hold the frawns. I wish that I could find that picture again so I can copy it. Has anyone on here done this before?

I've never taken a picture of my frawn holders on purpose, here's the best I have so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about:

Are you saying you have to insert those palms into each of those holes in that pvc pipe every time you set up and take them down when you move? That's pretty inconvenient but if it works for you then that's fine.

I use a fastgrass pop up blind, and stick about 6 of em thru the fastgrass on each side of the blind so that it doesnt look like a box.

Here is something that Gator Trax just recently started offering. http://www.gatortraxboats.com/p-197-brush-rails.aspx

Guidry - No, not in every hole. It's always good to have more holes than you need! Depending on the size of the frawns, you'll need to use more or less holes. It's a PIA especially when hunting alone, but it's definitely a game changer in my neck of the woods.

If they could build that into some catwalks it would be awesome.

It would work like that in the marsh, but I would have it mangled up in the timber pretty quick.

Appreciate the link BoatDr. That's alot like I'm talking about. They need to angle the inserts more inward towards the boat so you don't have a wide open boat showing when a duck flies directly overhead, but that's pretty much what I'm looking for.

DDM - I've got one and hunt with friends that have them. They work fine for the first few weeks of the season. I hunt a lot in open pad fields with little islands mixed in on public lakes. You oughtta see how every other boat blinded up out there looks square and fake like a Lego block. I can pick'm out a couple miles away. I wouldn't go through all the trouble if it didn't make a big difference.

Switch cane is what we call it, really bushy bamboo lookin stuff?

It doesn't really blend in with anything around here but it will definitely break your outline up. Holds the leaves for a very long time if you have a boat hide you leave brushed all year, it'll almost take back root in the right ground.

Been using palm fronds for 26 years. They are a PIA. I've built all kinds of contraptions to hold them. My goal is to eventually get away from having to use them, but I've been unsuccessful in that endeavour. A buddy of mine likes to use what we call maiden cane (the bamboo looking stuff). That is a bigger PIA than fronds. The metal conduit blind you are looking for is pretty nice. I saw it on here about a year ago.
